A Message to Our Community: Stepping Back to Move Forward
We want to share the difficult news that the Crest & Conquer event (formerly Kiteboard 4 Cancer), originally scheduled for July 11–13, 2025 in Hood River, OR, will not be taking place this year.
This was not an easy decision. It comes after deep reflection, transparent evaluation of our resources, and a commitment to serving young adult cancer survivors in the most impactful way possible. With lower-than-expected registration numbers, shifts in the economic landscape, and our dedication to stewarding every dollar in service of young adult cancer survivors, we know that this is the right choice.
This Year, We Pause. Next Year, We Rally.
While we won’t be gathering at the water’s edge this summer, we remain inspired, hopeful, and deeply committed to PK’s mission. Crest & Conquer will return in 2026, recharged, reimagined, and as powerful as ever. We are already looking forward to being back together, rallying in the spirit of adventure, community, and resilience.
Thank you for continuing to stand with us. Your support fuels every wave of healing we create.
With gratitude,
The Project Koru Team

The Project Koru Mission:
Enrich lives through community and the outdoors as a way to move forward beyond cancer.
Our Values: Community, Adventure, Empowerment
We are: Project Growth • Project Strength • Project Peace • Project Life • Project You • Project Koru!
We started with a vision:
A world where young adult cancer survivors find community and empowerment in their survivorship.
So we created our signature program, Camp Koru: a week-long journey designed to inspire human connection, personal growth, & healing.
But when a bunch of fired-up, empowered young adult cancer survivors get together and realize they can change the world…. they do.
And so, either through a happy accident or fate itself, we became so much more!
