Survivor Leadership Opportunities

By survivors, for survivors

Giving survivors the support to become leaders is the final step in our Continuum. By investing resources into our community, we move closer to creating a world of empowered survivors. We run multiple different programs for survivors to become leaders in their own way.

Survivors who have entered our community through Camp Koru or Koru Communities are eligible to apply for leadership opportunities. Programs are designed for those who want to find strength in their survivorship through giving back to this community.

Leadership Opportunities

Become a Farman Fellow

Farman Fellows is a 6-month leadership program (10-15 people) that focuses on further developing purpose, identity, and community for survivors. Fellows focus on self-discovery, community, cohort projects, and a post-fellowship plan.

You should apply to Farman Fellows if you are….

  • A survivor who has attended Camp Koru

  • Interested in giving back to the cancer community

  • Available to commit 15-20 hours/month for 6 months

    • Bi-weekly virtual group meetings focused on personal growth, leadership, and identified projects

    • 1x/month virtual meeting with cohort to update and work on projects

  • Willing to donate your time, talent, and support to Project Koru during and post-program

Fellows MUST attend virtual introductory weekend retreat and training, as well as the Farman Fellowship Celebration (end of the commitment ceremony).

All applicants go through an interview process. If you’re ready to take finding strength in your survivorship to the next level, this is for you.

The Farman Fellows program is currently on hold indefinitely as we focus on other critical initiatives supporting young adult cancer survivors. We deeply value the program’s mission and appreciate your understanding.

***Next cohort dates TBD. Currently not accepting applications***
