Spring 2022 Announcements
Hi everyone,
Happy Spring! How have you been? Along with warmer weather, spring brings new growth, new beginnings, and of course, the return of camp season! I’m feeling extra hopeful about this year and have a lot of exciting news to share with you about some of the things blooming over here at Project Koru.
There's a lot so let's just get into it!
First, our new camp location… grab your passport, because we're headed to COSTA RICA! We’ll be running 1 camp there in fall of this year with more to come in 2023!
This spring, we’re hosting 3 surf camps and 1 snow camp (which we haven't held since 2018!). We’re so excited to bring in the next wave of Ohana!
Project Koru is welcoming 15 survivors to our second Farman Fellows leadership cohort. Farman Fellows is our leadership program that trains survivors to lead within Project Koru & beyond. We are proud to be an organization run by survivors, for survivors.
Our community programming, Koru Communities, will be moving to in-person locations through a regional ambassador program! Expect local events in the fall. We’re looking forward to spreading the PK love, connection, and support all over the country.
Kiteboard 4 Cancer is right around the corner! The event will take place in Hood River on July 8-9th. Interested in volunteering? Reach out to Willow at ximena@projectkoru.org
No matter where you find yourself these days, you always have an Ohana here with us. If you need anything (I mean it!), you can reach out to me at beth@projectkoru.org.
Here’s to blossoming 🌻,
Beth Peck
